I was happy to learn I won an URSA Award.
I’ve been active in the teddy bear world for many years, sharing my knowledge of bear making method with my students, some which are very young. I was happy when my young students wanted to enter the URSA Awards Competition.

Competitions bring out creator’s best work and increases the level of the crafted piece.

However, at the same time, I wish the high standard competition will have a place for youngsters, because youngsters can hardly

compete with the long-time makers. No one would enter the competite where they can never win. The problem was solved when Ms. Valerie understood the youngsters' feelings and sent letters of encouragement with a special gold star. The young students were very happy.
